We are looking for a Senior Data Architect who will also act as the Technical Product Owner (TPO) for our client's data platform.

This role combines hands-on architecture leadership with product ownership of the technical roadmap and backlog (workload is shared across both responsibilities). Strong Azure data platform experience is required; D365 understanding is a value add.

Key responsibilities (Data Architecture):

  • Define and maintain target-state data architecture (conceptual/logical/physical) and reference patterns.
  • Design scalable Azure data solutions (batch + streaming), data models, and integration patterns.
  • Ensure security, compliance, performance, reliability, and cost efficiency (FinOps-aware architecture).
  • Govern architecture standards, design reviews, and technical decision-making across squads/teams.
  • Partner with enterprise architecture, security, and domain teams to align data products with business outcomes.

Key responsibilities (Technical Product Owner):

  • Own the technical product vision, roadmap, and backlog for the data platform and data products.
  • Translate platform needs into epics/features/user stories with clear acceptance criteria and non-functional requirements.
  • Prioritize work using value/risk/cost and manage dependencies across integration, analytics, and ERP domains.
  • Drive delivery ceremonies with the team (refinement, sprint planning support, demos, release readiness).
  • Define and track product metrics (e.g., pipeline reliability SLAs, data quality KPIs, lead time, platform adoption).
  • Act as the primary point of contact for platform stakeholders and ensure transparent communication.

D365 value-add scope:

  • Define patterns for consuming/integrating data from D365 F&O / CE, Dataverse, and related integration methods (e.g., data entities, BYOD, dual-write—depending on landscape).
  • Support ERP reporting and analytics use cases in finance/supply chain/manufacturing domains.

Required qualifications:

Extensive experience in data architecture / data engineering with architecture ownership. Strong experience with Azure data services, including several of:

  • ADLS, ADF, Synapse and/or Microsoft Fabric, Databricks
  • Event Hubs / streaming concepts
  • Azure SQL / SQL MI (and/or other data stores as relevant)
  • Strong SQL + data modeling (dimensional and/or data vault).
  • Proven ability to drive technical roadmap + backlog (product ownership mindset).
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and prioritization skills.

Nice to have:

  • Dynamics 365 (F&O/CE) integration and data concepts.
  • CI/CD + IaC for data platforms (Azure DevOps/GitHub, Terraform/Bicep).
  • Power BI semantic modeling and enterprise reporting patterns.
  • Data governance/metadata tools and data observability practices.

Key deliverables / outcomes:

  • Target data architecture + standards, reference designs, reusable templates.
  • Prioritized technical roadmap and a well-groomed backlog aligned to measurable outcomes.
  • Improved data quality, lineage, reliability, and reduced delivery lead time.
  • Increased platform adoption and reduced integration complexity.
