Operations & Office Coordinator (Startup All-Rounder)

Milton Park, Abingdon, Oxfordshire (On-site daily) but with flexi hours

Are you the ultimate SME generalist who thrives in fast-moving tech environments?

We are recruiting for a cutting-edge deep-tech startup based in Abingdon. They are looking for a proactive, highly adaptable Operations & Office Coordinator to become the engine room of their head office.

This is not a traditional behind-the-desk admin job. Priorities spin, change, and pivot fast here, so you must be someone who turns ambiguity into action, spots gaps before anyone else does, and takes total ownership. You will need exceptional self-awareness, top-tier IT skills, and a genuine passion for working closely with people across every level of a business.

What you will be doing:

  • Operations & Facilities: Overseeing the day-to-day running of the office, managing landlord relationships, maintenance providers, and contractors to ensure a safe, smooth, welcoming space.
  • HR Ops & Culture: Supporting routine HR administration, updating HR systems, and helping shape a positive internal culture alongside the HR Business Partner.
  • EA/PA & Leadership Support: Assisting the C-suite and leadership team with meeting logistics, action tracking, agenda planning, and team events.
  • IT & Logistics Liaison: Serving as the hands-on, on-site contact for external IT partners while helping with goods-in, shipping, export records, and inventory.
  • Cross-Functional Pick-Up: Pitching in with light finance administration, basic marketing support, and order processing as needed.

What we are looking for:

  • Proven experience in an SME or startup background where you have held a broad portfolio of responsibilities
  • Broad generalist skills spanning office management, facilities, basic HR operations, and executive support
  • High level of tech-savviness and practical IT capability
  • Outstanding communication skills, personal awareness, and an approachable, solution-focused attitude
  • UK Driving Licence and the ability to be on-site in Abingdon daily

Perks & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary (£40k to £55k dependent on experience).
  • 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays.
  • Private medical insurance, critical illness cover, and life assurance after probation.
  • Tech scheme, electric car scheme options, 5% matched pension, and free parking.
  • Discretionary daily self-serve lunches, drinks, and snacks on site.

Apply today to join a fast-paced business where your contribution directly drives day-to-day success.
