Require : 10+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or insights roles

5+ years in a senior leadership or people management role

Must have UK based experience with existing senior experience.

Purpose of the Role

The Head of Data Analytics & Insights is responsible for owning and continuously evolving the organisation’s data and analytics capability, ensuring that data is actively monitored, critically interpreted, and challenged, and translated into clear, decision-ready insight for senior leadership and the Board . The role exists to ensure that data is transformed into actionable, trusted insights that support claims efficiency, fraud prevention, regulatory compliance, and strategic decision-making.

This role plays a critical part in enabling the business to reduce claim handling times, improve settlement accuracy, control costs, identify risk and fraud, and enhance customer experience, while ensuring insight-led decisions are embedded across all operational and strategic functions.

Core Accountabilities

1. Claims Analytics & Operational Performance

  • Define and execute the organisation’s data and analytics strategy Take end-to-end ownership of the interpretation of raw and complex data to deliver actionable insight, early-warning indicators, and strategic recommendations Own and deliver analytics that optimize the end-to-end claims lifecycle, including intake, assessment, investigation, settlement, and closure Develop and maintain performance frameworks covering claim duration, cost, leakage, recoveries, and customer satisfaction Identify operational bottlenecks, process outliers, root causes of delays, and cost drivers within claims processes Enable continuous improvement through insight-led operational decision-making

2. Fraud, Risk & Compliance Insights

  • Lead the development of analytics to identify potential fraud, exaggeration, and claims leakage Support risk management teams with early-warning indicators and predictive insights Ensure analytics support regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and evidentiary requirements Partner with compliance and legal teams to ensure data use aligns with regulatory obligations and governance standards

3. Customer & Outcome Insights

  • Provide insights into customer journeys, outcomes, and satisfaction across the claims process Identify drivers of complaints, disputes, and rework to improve fairness and transparency Enable segmentation and behavioral insights to support tailored claims handling approaches Ensure insights balance commercial objectives with fair customer outcomes

4. Strategic Decision Support

  • Act as a trusted analytics partner to Executive and Senior Leadership teams Translate complex data into clear, commercially relevant insights to inform strategy, pricing, resourcing, and investment decisions Support forecasting, capacity planning, and scenario modelling for claims volumes and cost exposure

5. Data Governance, Quality & Trust

  • Establish and enforce consistent definitions, metrics, and reporting standards across claims and operational data Ensure high data quality, lineage, and integrity to support defensible decision-making Partner with IT, data engineering, and governance teams to ensure secure and compliant data platforms Continuously assessing and improving the effectiveness, validity, and relevance of metrics, analytical models, and reporting.

6. Analytics Capability & Team Leadership

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing analytics and insights function Embed best practices in analytics, visualization, storytelling, and insight delivery Promote a self-service analytics culture while maintaining governance and quality controls Drive adoption of analytics across claims, operations, finance, and compliance teams

7. Technology & Innovation

  • Oversee analytics platforms, BI tools, and reporting solutions used across claims operations Champion automation, advanced analytics, and AI/ML to improve claims outcomes and efficiency Stay abreast of industry trends in claims analytics, fraud detection, and regulatory technology

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field 10+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or insights roles 5+ years in a senior leadership or people management role Strong experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker) and analytics platforms Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders with data-driven insights Strong business acumen and ability to translate analytics into commercial impact

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience building analytics functions from the ground up Knowledge of advanced analytics, data science, and AI/ML concepts Experience working with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) Strong storytelling and data visualization skills Excellent communication, leadership, and change-management capabilities
