Role Overview

The Mainframe Engineer (Z/OS Systems Programmer) is responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of Mainframe systems and associated software environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and upgrade the z/OS operating system.
• Install, maintain, and upgrade Db2 for z/OS and related IBM Z products.
• Support and manage ISV products from vendors such as IBM and Computer Associates (CA).
• Provide production support and system reliability.
• Support system programming activities, including configuration, testing, and deployment.
• Ensure optimal system performance and availability.

Key Skills

• Strong experience in Mainframe systems programming.
• Expertise in z/OS, SMP/E, TSO/ISPF, USS, SDSF, and JCL.
• Knowledge of IBM and CA products.
• Strong problem-solving ability and team collaboration skills.
• Willingness to provide out-of-hours support and participate in on-call rotas.
