Job Title: Interim Accounts Payable Clerk (Potential to Go Permanent)

Are you an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk looking for your next opportunity? We’re working with a growing business in the York area that needs an enthusiastic and detail-oriented professional to join their finance team on an interim basis, with the possibility of a permanent role for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Processing Supplier Invoices: Accurately input purchase invoices into the accounting system, ensuring correct coding and VAT treatment.
• Matching, Batching & Coding: Match invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes, ensuring correct nominal coding.
• Supplier Statement Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile supplier statements to ensure all invoices and credits are accounted for.
• Payment Runs: Prepare and process weekly or monthly supplier payment runs via BACS or other methods.
• Query Resolution: Handle supplier queries promptly and professionally to maintain strong relationships.
• Expense Processing: Check and process employee expense claims in line with company policy.
• Compliance & Controls: Ensure adherence to company policies, internal controls, and relevant legislation.
• Month-End Support: Assist with month-end close by providing accurate ledger information and accruals where necessary.
• Maintaining Accurate Records: File invoices and maintain an organized purchase ledger system.
• Ad-hoc Duties: Support the finance team with additional tasks as required.

About You:

• Previous experience in an Accounts Payable role is essential.
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with accounting systems and Excel.
