JOB – AI Engineer

LOCATION – Reading (Hybrid)

TERM – Permanent

SALARY – £60,000 to £80,000 per annum

We are an innovative and rapidly growing technology organisation harnessing the power of artificial intelligence to build next-generation products and solutions. As part of our continued expansion, we are looking to strengthen our engineering capability with the addition of an AI Engineer.

We are seeking an AI Engineer to design, develop, and deploy intelligent applications using modern AI tools and frameworks from our Reading office on a hybrid basis.

The AI Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

• Strong experience in software development with a focus on AI/ML solutions

• A degree qualification (BSc, MSc, PhD etc.) in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field

• Strong programming skills in Python and Java

• Experience working with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar

• Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI APIs (e.g. OpenAI, Hugging Face)

• Experience building scalable, production-ready systems

• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

• Experience with REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems

• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering best practices

• Familiarity with prompt engineering and AI model integration

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment

• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)

The AI Engineer role will involve:

• Designing and developing AI-powered applications and services

• Implementing and integrating machine learning and LLM-based solutions

• Building scalable back-end systems using Python and Java

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams including data scientists and product managers

• Deploying and maintaining AI models in production environments

• Optimising performance, scalability, and reliability of systems

• Exploring new AI technologies and best practices to drive innovation

• Translating business requirements into robust technical solutions
