Senior QA Engineer (Digital Platform) Reading (Hybrid) 2 days in office 3 WFH? PermanentThe Opportunity We are working with a growing digital platform organisation undergoing a major technology transformation.
They are investing heavily in modern engineering practices and are looking to hire a Senior QA Engineer to play a key role in shaping quality across their platform.This is a high-impact position where youll take ownership of test strategy, automation architecture, and release quality , working closely with engineering and product teams to ensure high standards across critical user journeys.The Role As a Senior QA Engineer, youll operate as a technical leader within quality engineering , responsible for defining how testing is approached across a distributed digital platform.Youll design scalable automation frameworks, influence engineering standards, and ensure robust validation across both frontend and backend systems.Key Responsibilities Design and implement integration and system-level testing strategies across a modern digital platformBuild and maintain test automation frameworks covering UI, API, and service-level validationDefine the automation approach and test coverage model across core user journeysOwn CI/CD quality gates , including release criteria, pipeline health, and test stabilityInvestigate production issues and feed insights back into test coverage and quality improvementsCollaborate with engineers, architects, and product teams on quality strategy and design decisionsProvide technical leadership and mentorship to other QA engineersLeverage modern AI-assisted development and testing tools to enhance productivity and coverageAbout You Were looking for a hands-on senior QA engineer with strong technical capability and a passion for building scalable quality solutions.Key Skills & Experience Proven experience in end-to-end test automation in production environments (6+ years)Strong programming skills in JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or C#Experience designing test frameworks and automation architectureSolid API and UI automation experience (e.g. Playwright, Cypress, or similar)Strong understanding of SQL and data validation techniquesExperience working with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) including release gatingKnowledge of non-functional testing (performance, resilience, etc.)Comfortable balancing manual exploratory testing with automated approachesExperience working in cloud-based environments (AWS or similar)Strong stakeholder communication skillsDesirable Experience with contract testing for service integrationsExposure to modernising legacy test environments or processesExperience testing across mobile or desktop applicationsFamiliarity with AI tools for test generation and engineering productivityWhats in It for You Opportunity to shape quality in a modern digital transformation programmeHigh level of ownership and influence within a growing engineering functionCollaborative, forward-thinking technology environmentHybrid working model based in ReadingApply Now If youre a Senior QA Engineer looking to step into a role with real ownership and technical influence , wed love to hear from you.TPBN1_UKTJ
