Project Manager (London Area)
My client is a leading fintech company revolutionising the way people manage their financial needs through innovative technology. They work with cutting-edge financial solutions to streamline processes, improve customer experiences, and drive financial inclusion globally.
They're looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented Internal Project Manager to join their Project Management team. You’ll play a pivotal role in managing internal projects, gathering requirements, and ensuring documentation standards are met to support the successful delivery of fintech solutions.
Key Responsibilities:Project Management & Coordination:
- Oversee and manage internal projects from initiation to completion, ensuring all milestones are met on time and within scope.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (engineering, compliance, finance, etc.) to ensure seamless communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
- Create, maintain, and track detailed project plans, schedules, and progress reports.
- Identify project risks and proactively implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all internal stakeholders regarding project updates, timelines, and documentation.
Requirement Gathering:
- Facilitate and manage requirement gathering sessions with business and technical stakeholders to define project scope and objectives.
- Document business, functional, and technical requirements clearly and concisely, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Collaborate with product managers and other teams to ensure that requirements are well understood and clearly communicated to development teams.
Document Management:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project charters, scope documents, status reports, and post-project evaluations.
- Ensure all project documentation is clear, organized, and stored in accordance with internal processes and regulatory standards.
- Prepare and distribute meeting minutes, action items, and project updates to key stakeholders.
- Review and maintain project management templates to ensure consistency across internal projects.
Internal Communication & Stakeholder Management:
- Foster positive relationships with internal teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Provide clear, timely updates to stakeholders on project status, potential risks, and dependencies.
- Conduct regular project reviews with stakeholders to ensure alignment on expectations and project progress.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience as a project manager, ideally in fintech, financial services, or a technology-focused environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Trello, or MS Project). Experience with documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint, Google Docs).
- Project Management: Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Documentation: Strong attention to detail with a focus on maintaining accurate, organized, and comprehensive documentation.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify challenges early and propose actionable solutions.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in fintech, payments, or blockchain technology.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the fintech space (e.g., GDPR, PSD2, KYC/AML).
- Certification in Project Management (PMP, Prince2, or Agile certifications).
- Strong understanding of software development and technical project management.
This role is hybrid with 3 days a week in my clients central London office and offers a 2 stage interview process.
