AI Architect - 12 months - Halifax (2 days)- Inside IR35
We are looking for an experienced AI Architect with a strong Generative AI focus to join a leading technology services organisation on a 12-month hybrid contract based in Halifax. You will define the architecture for enterprise GenAI, LLM and agentic solutions, taking them from proof of concept to production at scale for a major banking and financial services client. A minimum of 2 days per week on-site is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define the end-to-end architecture for GenAI, LLM and agentic AI solutions
- Design RAG pipelines, including chunking, embeddings, vector search and retrieval strategies
- Architect multi-agent and tool-using systems, for example ReAct and orchestration frameworks
- Set patterns for prompt engineering, evaluation and guardrails, covering hallucination, safety and responsible AI
- Select, fine-tune and integrate foundation models on GCP (Vertex AI)
- Design LLMOps: model serving, monitoring, cost control and drift detection
- Embed AI solutions securely into existing enterprise systems and data platforms
- Advise stakeholders on GenAI use cases, trade-offs and risk
- Provide technical leadership to data science, ML engineering and platform teams
What You Will Ideally Bring:
- 8+ years' experience, including significant AI/ML solution architecture
- Proven delivery of production GenAI/LLM solutions at enterprise scale
- Deep RAG experience, including vector databases and embeddings
- Agentic architectures (ReAct, multi-agent) and frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph or similar
- Prompt engineering, LLM evaluation and guardrails
- LLM fine-tuning and model selection, including open-source and hosted models
Contract Details
- Duration: 12 months initial
- Rate: £500 per day
- Determination: Inside IR35
