Role Overview
We are looking for an Applications Engineer to deliver hands-on engineering support on a 6-month hybrid contract based in Corsham. The role focuses on application deployment, configuration, and life cycle management across enterprise environments, supporting full life cycle delivery from design and integration through to testing, deployment, and operational support within a secure, regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and support enterprise applications across Windows and/or Linux environments, managing installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and decommissioning
- Support integration of applications with enterprise services including identity (AD/LDAP), databases, and networking
- Configure and maintain application environments across development, test, and production platforms, supporting troubleshooting and resolution of integration issues
- Implement secure-by-design principles for application deployment and configuration
- Produce and maintain technical artefacts including design documentation, build guides, and runbooks
- Support system integration, testing, and validation of application services, working with Service Management functions to resolve incidents and service requests

- Strong experience in application installation, configuration, and support within enterprise environments, across Windows and/or Linux server environments
- Knowledge of integrating applications with enterprise services (Active Directory, databases, web services), supporting environments across development, test, and production
- Understanding of application security and hardening best practices, with strong troubleshooting of complex application and integration issues
- Ability to produce technical documentation (LLDs, build guides, runbooks), with understanding of ITIL service management principles
- Must hold, or be eligible to obtain, UK Security Clearance (SC) - desirable: Middleware/app Servers (IIS, Apache, Tomcat), PowerShell/Bash Scripting, CI/CD and DevOps exposure
Contract Details:
- Rate: £550 per day
- Location: Hybrid in Corsham
- Contract Length: 6-Month Initial Contract - Inside IR35
