Contract: Security Engineer - Initial 6 months - Hybrid in Manchester
Role Overview
In this role, you will design, build, and support secure cloud infrastructure while driving cloud security best practices across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments. Working closely with engineering, DevOps, and security teams, you will enhance cloud security capabilities, automate security processes, and ensure cloud platforms remain secure, compliant, and aligned with enterprise governance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver secure cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Support cloud-native application architectures and DevSecOps adoption.
- Build and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
- Automate cloud security processes, remediation, and operational workflows.
- Implement cloud security controls, governance, and compliance standards.
- Monitor cloud environments using SIEM and cloud security posture management tools.
- Support container platforms including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep).
- Support incident, problem, and change management activities.
Skills & Experience
- Strong experience across AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms.
- Proven background in cloud security engineering and cloud-native security controls.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, Agile delivery, and infrastructure automation.
- Strong Scripting skills using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Java.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS, AKS, or GKE.
- Experience with Wiz Cloud/Wiz Defend or similar Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) platforms.
- Strong understanding of IAM, RBAC, encryption, governance, and cloud security best practices.
- Experience with Windows, Red Hat Linux, SIEM platforms, and enterprise operational processes.
- Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP) or CISSP are advantageous.
Contract Details
- Duration: Initial 6 months
- Location: Hybrid in Manchester (2/3 days per week)
- Rate: £450 - £500/day (inside IR35)
