A leading UK-based managed services and cloud solutions provider is seeking a forward-thinking, experienced DevOps & Automation Architect to join their dynamic Cloud Services Group. About the Role

Working as part of the Cloud Services function, the successful candidate will take ownership of the organisation’s Automation and DevOps strategy, leading a team to transform processes into streamlined, efficient workflows through innovative use of code, platforms, tools, and people.

This role will involve providing a standardised approach and frameworks to help design, build, and maintain solutions that deliver operational excellence across cloud environments, infrastructure, and internal business systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical authority within the Automation and DevOps domain
  • Lead and advocate for DevOps practices, fostering a community of practice within the organisation
  • Assess existing processes, identify optimisation opportunities and prioritise automation activities
  • Design and implement automation capabilities that reduce overheads across delivery, product and operations teams
  • Develop robust integrations, custom APIs, and maintain business-critical automated processes
  • Provide strategic guidance, frameworks, and standards for development and automation solutions
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and tools, introducing innovations that enhance operational performance
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across all levels, translating technical concepts into business-friendly language
  • Mentor and support team members, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement

Key Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Strong Microsoft technology background, particularly Azure PaaS
  • Experience with source control and CI/CD tools (Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub/GitLab)
  • Skilled in multiple programming languages, ideally including:
  • .Net (C#)
  • PowerShell
  • T-SQL
  • Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies
  • Proven experience in DevOps/SRE practices, CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM)
  • Solid understanding of API development and modern cloud architecture principles

Desirable:

  • Experience with Python, Java, JavaScript, or Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI)
  • Relevant certifications (Azure, DevOps, Cloud Adoption Framework)

Salary + Location:

  • This role is paying up to £75,000 Basic Per Annum + Discretionary Bonus
