Fortinet SD-WAN Project Engineer

Join one of the UK's most established Managed Service Providers, delivering next-generation connectivity and SD-WAN solutions to enterprise and public sector customers nationwide.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on Fortinet SD-WAN design, implementation, and 3rd-line support, with exposure to cutting-edge network transformation projects. Working within a highly skilled technical team, you'll be responsible for delivering low-level designs (LLDs), implementing complex solutions, and acting as a technical escalation point for customer environments.

If you want to work with a company that combines enterprise-scale infrastructure with a close-knit engineering culture — and you enjoy technical autonomy and project ownership — this is the ideal next step.

Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver Fortinet SD-WAN solutions across large customer environments.

• Produce Low-Level Designs (LLDs) aligned with customer requirements and best practices.

• Lead implementation activities, including configuration, testing, and deployment.

• Act as a 3rd line escalation point for Fortinet and Meraki SD-WAN environments.

• Support SD-WAN lifecycle management — design, build, handover, and optimisation.

• Collaborate with pre-sales, project management, and operations teams to ensure seamless delivery.

• Provide technical documentation and knowledge transfer to support teams.

• Maintain awareness of emerging SD-WAN, LAN, and cloud networking technologies.

Skills / Must Have:

• 5+ years of experience in network engineering, ideally within an MSP or service provider.

• Proven Fortinet SD-WAN experience (NSE-7 level preferred).

• Strong knowledge of routing, switching, and VPN technologies (BGP, OSPF, IPSec).

• Hands-on experience designing, configuring, and troubleshooting Fortinet and Meraki networks.

• Solid understanding of WAN and LAN performance optimisation.

• Excellent documentation and communication skills.

• Eligible for SC Clearance (active clearance highly desirable).

Benefits:

• Work on enterprise-scale Fortinet SD-WAN transformation projects.

• Join one of the UK's most respected connectivity and cloud service providers.

• Access to advanced training, certifications, and progression pathways.

• Competitive salary and benefits package including pension and healthcare.

• Collaborative, engineering-led culture with long-term career growth.

Salary:

£61,000 per annum

Location:

Hybrid – 2 days per week in Harrogate, remainder remote
