Full Stack Developer - London - Hybrid - 6 months

Role Overview

We're looking for a Full Stack Developer to join our CTO DevOps Services team on a 6-month contract basis. You'll work within a small, close-knit team of 4-6 people, involved in every part of the development life cycle, from analysis and design through to testing and production support. We don't separate these functions out across different teams; the team that builds it is the team that supports it. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys end-to-end ownership and wants to make a tangible impact on live systems.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively within a small team, which may be based in a single location or geographically dispersed
• Take business requirements, break them down into user stories, and deliver each one iteratively through to production
• Provide ongoing product support, since the team that builds a feature also supports it
• Identify areas of technical debt and help prioritise a healthy balance between addressing debt and delivering new functionality
• Design solutions for new work in line with technology guidelines and architectural constraints
• Pair regularly with other members of the team to share knowledge and improve code quality

Desired Skills and Experience

Essential:

• A willingness to learn and work across multiple programming languages
• Demonstrable experience in at least one of our core languages: Kotlin, Java, or JavaScript
• Working knowledge of Unix
• A solid understanding of databases from a consumer/usage perspective
• Familiarity with HTTP APIs, including RESTful API design and consumption
• Strong English communication skills, since the team collaborates primarily in English

Desirable:

• Experience maintaining CI/CD systems, particularly at enterprise scale
