Hamilton Barnes is is seeking an experienced GCP Senior Data Modeller for a 6-month contract opportunity. This hybrid role offers the chance to work onsite 2-3 days per week in either London or Edinburgh, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement robust data models on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

You'll play a key role in delivering scalable data solutions, driving data strategy, and enabling business insights through efficient modelling techniques. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a high-impact environment within a well-established organisation undergoing exciting data transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable conceptual, logical, and physical data models on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to support business and analytical requirements.
• Collaborate with data architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to align data structures with strategic goals and ensure data integrity.
• Optimise data models for performance, reusability, and cost-efficiency within GCP environments, particularly BigQuery.
• Contribute to data governance initiatives by maintaining standards, documentation, and metadata across the data landscape.
• Support integration with data pipelines and reporting tools (eg Looker), ensuring consistent and reliable data delivery.

What you will ideally:

• Proven experience in data modelling within cloud environments, with strong proficiency in ER/Studio for designing and maintaining complex data models.
• Solid working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services including GCS buckets, BigQuery, and data streaming technologies such as Kafka.
• Strong technical skills in Advanced SQL, along with experience in SSIS packages, Python, and Unix Shell Scripting for data processing and automation tasks.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including active participation in sprints, ceremonies, and collaborative development cycles.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.

Contract Details:

• Duration: 6 months
• Daily Rate: Up to £475 Per Day (Inside IR35)
• Location: Edinburgh or London (2-3 Days Per Week)
