IT Field Engineer
Job Title: IT and Networks Field Engineer Salary Range: £26-34k + Car Allowance (dependent on experience)

Role Overview:
This hybrid role involves both on-site fault resolution and project-based implementation work. It offers great variety, working across different clients, technologies, and scopes of work. Field Engineers are expected to lead projects, from pre-sales technical input to final implementation and handoff.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive, skilled engineer with a 'can do’ attitude, capable of delivering well-planned, professional installations and support services across a wide range of technologies.
The client will be interested in a Support Engineer who is would be interested in moving into a more hands on role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver efficient and high-quality on-site service and support
- Install IT and telecoms solutions
- Onboard clients into managed support services
- Provide remote and on-site technical support
- Plan and manage installation projects
- Assist sales with solution design and technical recommendations
- Document all work in CRM/project ticketing system
- Identify and drive new sales opportunities from technical operations
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Advanced configuration of routers, switches, and firewalls
- Installation and support of IT hardware and services
- Experience with virtual environments and disaster recovery
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and virtualised cloud environments
- Wi-Fi installation and configuration (Ruckus & Ubiquiti/Unifi preferred)
- Design and deployment of cloud telephony solutions
- Understanding of SIP and broadband technologies
- Installation of LAN infrastructure (including testing and design)
- Experience using CRM/ticketing systems
- Full UK driving license
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional, organised, and reliable work ethic
- Ability to build rapport with clients, colleagues, and suppliers
Do not need experience with all of the above
Preferred Qualifications:
- Microsoft cloud certifications/experience
- Windows Server 2012-2022 experience/certification
- Experience with Microsoft Defender or equivalent security solutions
- Networking certifications (CCNA, FortiGate, Netgear)
- Experience with VMWare and Hyper-V
- PC/laptop building, troubleshooting, and repair
- Router configuration (Draytek preferred)
- Firewall configuration (FortiGate preferred)
- Experience with anti-virus/anti-spam deployment including DNS changes
- VOIP telephony experience
- Project management experience or certification
- Experience using ConnectWise Manage CRM
