Information Technology System Engineer
IT Systems Engineer
London (Hybrid – 2 days onsite)
Up to £60,000 + benefits
This isn’t a “keep the lights on” role - it’s a chance to step into a hands-on, high-impact engineering position at a business going through major transformation. Following a recent restructure, the team is being rebuilt with a clear focus: strong engineers who can get stuck in and drive change. With significant cloud and infrastructure upgrade projects on the horizon, this is a key hire and a top priority for the business.
What’s in it for you?
- Work on modern, cloud-first infrastructure (Azure-heavy environment)
- Get involved in large-scale migration and upgrade projects
- Real hands-on engineering - not just firefighting tickets
- Cross-training and certifications supported (they actively invest in this)
- A team where performance is recognised more frequently, not just annually
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting and improving cloud and on-prem infrastructure
- Acting as a 3rd Line escalation point for complex issues
- Managing core services like Microsoft 365, Azure, VMware, and Linux servers
- Monitoring and maintaining systems (DHCP, network monitoring tools, backups, etc.)
- Investigating incidents end-to-end and identifying root causes
- Contributing to projects, migrations, and system improvements
- Working closely with internal teams to deliver reliable, scalable infrastructure
What they’re looking for
- ~5+ years in IT Infrastructure/Systems Engineering roles
- Strong experience across:
- Azure / Microsoft 365
- Windows Server + Linux
- VMware
- General networking (DHCP, monitoring, etc.)
- Relevant Azure/Microsoft certifications (or working towards them)
- A hands-on, proactive mindset - someone who enjoys being a “doer”
Nice to have
- Data centre experience
- Exposure to tools like Veeam, SolarWinds, Zabbix, SIEM/XDR platforms
Culture & environment
This is a team that values:
- Engineers who take ownership and solve problems
- People who are happy working across a broad tech stack (true generalists)
- Continuous improvement - both technically and personally

- Potential for on-call in the future
- Benefits include private healthcare, pension, and more
