Contract: Mobile Voice Core Signalling Designer - Initial 6 months - Remote (adhoc travel to Reading)

Role Overview
\n In this role, you will support the design and evolution of mobile voice core signalling platforms, producing end-to-end network designs across IP STP, DSC, IMS, and Legacy voice core environments. You will work closely with project teams, vendors, and engineering stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and customer-focused signalling solutions while supporting network transformation and automation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

\n

    \n
  • Produce High-Level and Low-Level Designs (HLD/LLD) for core voice and signalling platforms.
  • \n

  • Design and support signalling solutions across IP STP, DSC (DRA/DEA), IMS, and Legacy voice core networks.
  • \n

  • Assess network impacts, capacity planning, and solution modelling for signalling projects.
  • \n

  • Support the development of automated testing capabilities across 5G SA and Legacy core networks.
  • \n

  • Produce Statements of Requirements (SORs), review supplier Statements of Compliance (SOC), and validate vendor designs.
  • \n

  • Collaborate with vendors and internal engineering teams to support network evolution and future roadmap planning.
  • \n

  • Ensure all designs meet operational, security, and fraud prevention requirements.
  • \n

  • Provide technical guidance throughout project delivery and support design governance activities.

Skills & Experience

\n

    \n
  • Strong experience designing mobile core voice and signalling networks within mobile operator environments.
  • \n

  • Deep understanding of 2G, 3G, 4G, IMS, and mobile core network architectures.
  • \n

  • Strong knowledge of signalling protocols including SS7, SIGTRAN, SIP, Diameter, and MAP.
  • \n

  • Experience producing HLDs, LLDs, capacity models, and technical design documentation.
  • \n

  • Understanding of IP Networking, traffic engineering, switching, and radio principles.
  • \n

  • Experience working with network vendors, reviewing technical documentation, and supporting solution delivery.
  • \n

  • Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and communication skills.

  • Day rate: £400 - £450 per day (inside)
