We are looking for an experienced Network Automation Engineer with strong hands-on NetBrain expertise to accelerate the automation of network incident diagnostics, evidence collection, and operational workflows within a regulated financial services environment. In this role, you'll work alongside Network Operations, Engineering, Tooling, and Service Management teams, converting repeatable troubleshooting knowledge into secure, reusable, and auditable automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse incident, alert, and service-management data to identify and prioritise automation opportunities, designing, building, testing, and deploying NetBrain PDAs, Runbooks, Qapps, Data Views, Dynamic Maps, and Network Intents
  • Translate existing playbooks and senior-engineer troubleshooting practices into deterministic automation workflows, configuring triggered and interactive diagnostic workflows with clear guardrails, approvals, and exception handling
  • Integrate NetBrain with ServiceNow, DX NetOps Spectrum, and other monitoring and orchestration platforms, automating collection of device state, topology, paths, configurations, and telemetry
  • Validate device, service, dependency, and configuration-item data with CMDB and inventory teams, developing pre/post-change validation and configuration-drift compliance checks
  • Partner with L1-L3 network teams to validate diagnostic logic across representative incidents, applying secure engineering, change management, and audit requirements expected in regulated financial services

What You Will Ideally Bring

  • Strong hands-on experience administering and engineering solutions on the NetBrain platform in a large, complex enterprise environment, with demonstrable delivery using PDA, Dynamic Maps, Runbooks, Qapps, Data Views, and Network Intent
  • Strong network engineering fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing and switching, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, MPLS, VPNs, NAT, ACLs) with multi-vendor troubleshooting experience across Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or F5
  • Experience integrating network platforms with ITSM/monitoring tools, preferably ServiceNow and DX NetOps Spectrum, plus working knowledge of APIs, JSON, and Scripting (Python, Ansible)
  • Strong analytical and stakeholder-management skills, with experience working within incident, problem, and change-management processes in a controlled production environment
  • Desirable, experience in banking or financial services, NetBrain certification, Splunk/ThousandEyes/Cisco Prime exposure, Git-based CI/CD practices, and experience defining value measures (MTTR reduction, diagnostic time, repeat incidents)
