Network Engineer - 6-Month Contract, Hybrid (3 days per week onsite, Coventry)
We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to support delivery of secure, resilient network infrastructure across IT and OT environments. In this role, you'll design, implement, and support network services within a Cyber Security and Zero Trust Architecture programme, ensuring reliable, compliant connectivity across critical business and operational systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise and OT network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and cloud connectivity
- Deliver network security components for a Zero Trust Architecture programme, configuring routing, switching, Firewalls, VPNs, and network segmentation
- Lead network transformation and infrastructure upgrade projects from design through implementation and operational handover
- Implement high-availability, resiliency, and disaster recovery solutions to protect business-critical services
- Support secure IT/OT convergence through industrial DMZs and controlled connectivity between operational and enterprise networks
What You Will Ideally Bring
- Proven experience designing and supporting large-scale enterprise network infrastructure
- Strong routing and switching expertise, including TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, VLANs, HSRP/VRRP, and VXLAN
- Hands-on network security experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, or Fortinet, including Firewalls, VPNs, NAC, and IDS/IPS
- Solid understanding of Zero Trust Architecture, micro-segmentation, and cloud networking in AWS and/or Azure
- Experience supporting OT, industrial networks, or secure IT/OT connectivity models
