Production Support Database Engineer (SC Cleared) - 12 months - UK-wide, preferably London/Belfast/Birmingham/Sheffield (Hybrid - 1 day/week in office) | £350/day | Active SC Clearance Required
We're recruiting for a Security Cleared Production Support Database Engineer to manage production support databases with Oracle, PL/SQL knowledge, and Unix Scripting for a leading organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L2 production support, including Incident, Problem, and Change Management
- Support applications involving Oracle Back End databases
- Write and troubleshoot SQL queries - joins, subqueries, views, indexes
- Perform data validation, data analysis, and data reconciliation
- Understand and work with Oracle schemas, tables, and relationships
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA), monitoring, and ticket resolution
- Analyse complex SQL queries and query performance
- Perform data fixes and work with stored procedures/packages
- Analyse application issues using database data
- Provide availability during deployment windows, which normally occur out-of-office hours
What You Will Ideally Bring
- Good understanding of Oracle Database concepts, schemas, tables, and relationships
- Ability to write and troubleshoot SQL queries (joins, subqueries, views, indexes)
- Ability to work in a 24x7 production environment
- Data validation and data analysis experience
- Oracle PL/SQL knowledge, OCA certification (desirable)
- Good communication skills - listening to customer needs, restating those needs, and documenting work
- Excellent problem-solving skills
Contract Details:
- Duration: 12 months
- Rate: £350 day - Inside IR35
- Location: UK wide (Hybrid) - preferably London/Belfast/Birmingham/Sheffield - Hybrid, 1 day/week in office
