SAP Technical/BTP Architect - 12-Month Contract - Inside IR35 - Hybrid (London/Manchester, 3-4 days onsite)

We are looking for an experienced SAP Technical Architect to join a SAP Brownfield Implementation and Enhancement Programme, supporting the transition to a secure, modern, cloud-aligned SAP S/4HANA platform. In this role, you'll define, design, and govern the overall technical architecture of SAP landscapes across SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, SAP BTP, SAP PI/PO, and SAP Fiori/UI5, ensuring high-performance, scalable, secure, and future-ready solutions aligned with business strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and govern SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC technical architectures, including system landscape design across DEV/QAS/PRD/DR environments
• Lead SAP Basis, system sizing, performance tuning, high-availability, and disaster recovery configuration decisions
• Design end-to-end integration patterns across SAP and non-SAP systems using SAP BTP Integration Suite (CPI), SAP PI/PO, APIs, IDocs, RFCs, and event-driven architectures
• Define and govern SAP HANA database architecture, security, and backup/restore strategy, enforcing coding standards and conducting technical reviews
• Lead SAP technical tracks across large implementations, migrations, or S/4HANA transformations, conducting technical impact assessments and performance troubleshooting

What You Will Ideally Bring

• Strong hands-on experience designing and governing SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC technical architectures, with deep SAP Basis and HANA database expertise
• Strong expertise in SAP integration technologies (BTP Integration Suite/CPI, PI/PO, REST/SOAP/OData APIs, IDocs, RFCs)
• Working knowledge of SAP on Cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP), and strong understanding of SAP security architecture, authorisations, SSO, and compliance
• Desirable, TOGAF or SAP Enterprise Architecture Framework familiarity, SAP BTP advanced services (Workflow, Business Rules, Event Mesh, API Management), and DevOps/CI-CD exposure
• Desirable, experience leading Architecture Review Boards, mentoring technical teams, and influencing C-level stakeholders
