Security Testing Practice Lead

🚀 Security Testing Practice Lead

📍 UK (Hybrid) | 💰 £85,000 base

This role sits at the intersection of technical depth and operational leadership. You’ll lead and scale a high-performing security testing function within a growing consultancy, balancing hands-on delivery with ownership of practice direction, quality, and performance.

You’ll define how security testing is delivered, shape the service portfolio, and ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes across all engagements while working closely with senior leadership on growth.

What’s in it for you?

• Lead a technically strong team and set the standard for delivery

• Shape and expand a modern, in-demand security testing portfolio

• Work directly with senior leadership on strategic growth initiatives

What you’ll be doing

You’ll take ownership of the security testing practice, driving both service innovation and operational efficiency. This includes building and maintaining a structured knowledge base across tools, methodologies, and reporting standards, while enforcing consistent quality across all engagements.

You’ll oversee day-to-day delivery, ensuring projects land on time, within scope, and at the expected standard. Resource allocation, utilisation tracking, and capacity planning will sit under your remit, alongside approving scopes of work, proposals, and final deliverables.

You’ll also play a key role commercially, supporting pre-sales activity, shaping project scope, and identifying further opportunities within existing client engagements. Alongside this, you’ll remain hands-on where needed, delivering security testing work and producing high-quality reports.

Internally, you’ll manage and develop the team, setting expectations, driving performance, and building capability over time.

What you need to bring

• Strong hands-on background in security testing and technical consulting

• Experience leading or building a security testing practice or function

• Ability to manage complex delivery across multiple projects

• Commercial awareness with experience supporting sales and scoping

• Strong client-facing skills and stakeholder management

• Proven people management and team development capability

• Clear communication across technical and non-technical audiences

• Familiarity with project management tools and delivery tracking

Why this role stands out

You’re not inheriting a static function. You’re shaping how it evolves, how it scales, and how it competes in a market where quality and credibility matter.

If you want ownership, influence, and the ability to build something properly, this is aligned with that.
