Senior Network Engineer - 12-Month Contract (Inside IR35)- London (Hybrid)

Working closely with the Low Latency Co-Lo Team Lead, you will operate as a senior routing and switching network engineer, responsible for the design and implementation of low-latency network projects within client data centre environments across multiple exchanges.
Leveraging your strong routing and switching expertise, you will deliver multi-vendor solutions in a high-pressure environment, adapting flexibly to evolving requirements and current network procurement challenges.

Duties

Key Responsibilities:

• You'll be with working in a complex, multi-vendor environment, ideally including Cisco and Arista platforms.
• Working in a co-location (Co-Lo) or data centre environment, including hands-on rack-and-stack, cross-connects and vendor coordination.
• Design, build, and support high-performance, low-latency network infrastructure within colocation environments.
• Maintain and evolve global WAN and cloud connectivity solutions.
• Configure and troubleshoot multicast and low-latency network environments.
• Implement and support timing solutions (GPS, PTP, NTP, PPS).
• Deploy and manage packet capture and monitoring solutions; perform packet analysis.
• Support exchange colocation connectivity for market data and order entry.
• Evaluate and test new networking technologies and products.
• Drive automation using modern tooling and Scripting.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to continuously improve infrastructure performance and reliability.
• Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively within a wider engineering team.

What You Will Ideally Bring:

• Strong hands-on experience with routing and switching in a complex, multi-vendor environment
• Solid understanding of core networking concepts including BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, QoS and troubleshooting at Layer 2/3.
• Fortinet Firewalls
• Automation: Ansible, Python
• Low Latency CoLo

Contract Details

Duration: Initial 12 months (with view to extend)
Day Rate: £600 per day (Inside IR35)
Location: Hybrid - London
