Senior Technical Architect – Northampton

About the role

This is a senior, hands-on architecture position operating in a high-performance, fast-paced environment. You’ll be responsible for designing and delivering enterprise-scale infrastructure and technology solutions that directly support critical business outcomes. You’ll act as the technical authority across multiple domains, shaping long-term IT strategy while remaining close to delivery. You’ll be engaging deeply with engineering challenges, solve complex problems, and operate as a key escalation point.

What you’ll be doing

-Designing and architecting enterprise IT infrastructure, applications, and cloud solutions

-Defining and delivering strategic technology roadmaps aligned to business objectives

-Leading complex, multi-stream projects across internal teams and third-party vendors

-Acting as the senior technical escalation point for critical incidents and challenges

-Driving innovation across infrastructure, automation, and system performance

-Managing stakeholders across IT and the wider business, balancing priorities, and delivery

-Ensuring high availability, performance, and security across core systems

What we’re looking for

-Strong background in enterprise architecture across infrastructure, cloud, and applications

-Proven experience operating at a senior technical level within a medium to large environment

-Deep knowledge of virtualisation, storage, messaging systems, and cloud platforms

-Experience with automation, scripting, and orchestration technologies

-Solid understanding of security, performance, and capacity management

-Experience working with ITIL and/or Agile delivery environments

-Ability to lead complex workloads, prioritise effectively, and manage competing demands

-Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis

-Comfortable operating in high-pressure, fast-moving environments
