Job Title: Senior Unified Communications (UC) Engineer

Location: Stevenage, On-Site

Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum (flexible up to £70,000 for exceptional candidates)

Security Clearance: Must be SC Clearable and a Sole British National

The Role:

As a Senior UC Engineer , you will play a pivotal role in maintaining, supporting, and enhancing the Unified Communications (UC) landscape within a secure defence environment. You will lead technical aspects of UC operations and serve as a subject matter expert for Cisco UC technologies, providing both L2 and L3 support. This role also includes mentorship of junior technicians and participation in an on-call service rota.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for Cisco UC technologies
• Manage upgrades, patching, and routine maintenance of the Cisco UC environment
• Offer technical leadership and mentoring to UC support technicians
• Act as a point of escalation for complex UC-related incidents
• Support and participate in an on-call rotation schedule
• Ensure security and compliance in line with defence sector standards

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM)
• Proven knowledge of VOIP and SIP trunking technologies
• Expertise in Cisco Unity Connection
• Experience with Cisco WebEx and video conferencing tools
• Familiarity with troubleshooting and resolving complex UC issues in a secure environment
