We are looking for an experienced Unisys Mainframe Software Engineer to join the engineering team on a core banking platform for a leading technology services organisation. You will build and change software on a critical Category A application in a major banking estate. The contract is 12 months, hybrid in the UK with a minimum of 2 days per week on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and build software in Unisys Cobol and DMS 1100
- Work with cross-functional teams to turn business requirements into technical solutions
- Analyse issues in running software and make the changes needed to resolve them
- Explain the impact of changes on interfacing systems to stakeholders
- Support System Test and Integration Test cycles
- Work within Agile ways of working, including daily stand-ups
What You Will Ideally Bring:
- 6+ years' experience on Unisys Mainframes
- Cobol programming
- DMS 1100 (hierarchical database)
- Functional knowledge of retail banking
- Batch processes and job scheduling
- C language (desirable)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

- Day Rate: £475-500 per day
