SolarWinds Technical Contractor- 6 Month Contract - Hybrid in Durrington- Inside IR35
We are seeking experienced SolarWinds technical contractors to join a major UK utility company on a 6-month hybrid contract based in Durrington. You will strengthen the organisation's Observability capability, helping to clear an existing SolarWinds backlog and support demand as digital teams develop their monitoring requirements. The estate covers Windows and Linux applications, both Legacy and modern, mainly hosted on-premises on VMware.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure and optimise SolarWinds monitoring solutions
- Onboard a backlog of Servers and devices into monitoring, including installing SolarWinds agents
- Improve alerting, event management and operational visibility
- Drive alert optimisation and automation improvements
- Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis and monitoring-related incidents
- Support future observability work: ServiceNow integration, CMDB alignment, APM, DEM and Azure monitoring
- Maintain operational documentation
- Work with infrastructure, application and service management teams to improve monitoring coverage
What You Will Ideally Bring:
- Strong hands-on experience of SolarWinds Orion platform administration and configuration
- Windows Server administration
- Linux administration and monitoring
- Event management, alerting and automation
- ServiceNow integration and ITSM processes (desirable)
- Network and infrastructure monitoring (desirable)
- Knowledge of monitoring standards, documentation and governance (desirable)
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
- Experience working in enterprise Windows and Linux environments
Contract Details:
- Rate: £400 per day (Inside IR35)
- Location: Hybrid in Durrington
- Contract Length: 6-Month Initial Contract - Inside IR35
