Technical Architect - 6-Month Contract - Hybrid (Luton)
We are seeking an experienced Technical Architect with strong hands-on development and architectural expertise in .NET, Node.js, Sitecore, React/Angular/jQuery, HTML/CSS and DevOps practices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing scalable solutions, guiding development teams, and ensuring best practices across application architecture, security, performance, and CI/CD pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end application architecture for web and enterprise solutions.
- Define technical standards, patterns, best practices and guidelines.
- Create high-level and low-level design documents.
- Ensure solutions meet scalability, performance, security and maintainability requirements.
- Work closely with product managers, business analysts, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Provide architectural guidance during planning, development, and deployment phases.
- Lead by example with hands-on coding when required.
- Develop and review Back End services using .NET (ASP.NET Core) and Node.js.
- Design and guide Front End development using React/Angular/jQuery, HTML/CSS.
- Architect and customize Sitecore solutions (content modelling, personalization, integrations).
- Implement Sitecore integrations with third-party systems and APIs.
- Define and implement security best practices including encryption, authentication and authorization.
- Ensure compliance with data governance and regulatory requirements.
What You Will Ideally Bring
- 8-10 years of hands-on experience in enterprise application development.
- 4+ years of experience in a Technical Architect role.
- Strong experience with .NET (C#, ASP.NET Core, Web APIs).
- Strong experience with React/Angular/jQuery, HTML/CSS
- Hands-on experience with Sitecore CMS (XP/XM preferred).
- Experience with REST APIs & microservices architecture.
- Strong understanding of SQL Server/NoSQL databases.
- Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS).
- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead architectural reviews and mentor development teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Contract Details
- Duration: 6 months (with potential extension)
- Day Rate: Up to £600 per day (Inside IR35)
- Location: Luton - Hybrid (3 days onsite per week)
