Technical Architect - 6-Month Contract - Hybrid (Luton)

We are seeking an experienced Technical Architect with strong hands-on development and architectural expertise in .NET, Node.js, Sitecore, React/Angular/jQuery, HTML/CSS and DevOps practices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing scalable solutions, guiding development teams, and ensuring best practices across application architecture, security, performance, and CI/CD pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design end-to-end application architecture for web and enterprise solutions.
  • Define technical standards, patterns, best practices and guidelines.
  • Create high-level and low-level design documents.
  • Ensure solutions meet scalability, performance, security and maintainability requirements.
  • Work closely with product managers, business analysts, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Provide architectural guidance during planning, development, and deployment phases.
  • Lead by example with hands-on coding when required.
  • Develop and review Back End services using .NET (ASP.NET Core) and Node.js.
  • Design and guide Front End development using React/Angular/jQuery, HTML/CSS.
  • Architect and customize Sitecore solutions (content modelling, personalization, integrations).
  • Implement Sitecore integrations with third-party systems and APIs.
  • Define and implement security best practices including encryption, authentication and authorization.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and regulatory requirements.

What You Will Ideally Bring

  • 8-10 years of hands-on experience in enterprise application development.
  • 4+ years of experience in a Technical Architect role.
  • Strong experience with .NET (C#, ASP.NET Core, Web APIs).
  • Strong experience with React/Angular/jQuery, HTML/CSS
  • Hands-on experience with Sitecore CMS (XP/XM preferred).
  • Experience with REST APIs & microservices architecture.
  • Strong understanding of SQL Server/NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS).
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead architectural reviews and mentor development teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Contract Details

  • Duration: 6 months (with potential extension)
  • Day Rate: Up to £600 per day (Inside IR35)
  • Location: Luton - Hybrid (3 days onsite per week)
  • Start Date: ASAP
