Mobile App Developer
A growing business in Chester is looking for a Mobile Developer to join their internal technology team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of becoming a permanent position as their digital capability expands.
This role focuses on building and improving internal mobile applications used by operational teams across the business. Rather than developing customer-facing products, the focus is on creating practical, reliable tools that support day-to-day operations and improve efficiency across multiple sites.
The RoleYou’ll play a key part in designing and developing internal mobile applications, working closely with operational stakeholders to understand how technology can simplify processes and improve communication across the organisation.
You’ll contribute to technical decisions while taking ownership of feature development and ongoing improvements to the mobile platform.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to architecture and technical design of internal mobile applications
- Develop and enhance core features and modules
- Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements
- Translate operational needs into scalable technical solutions
- Write clean, maintainable and well-structured code
- Use AI-assisted development tools as part of the development process
- Participate in code reviews and maintain development standards
- Continuously improve application performance, reliability and usability
You will likely have:
- A degree in Computer Science or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Around 3+ years’ experience in mobile development
- Strong skills in Android (Kotlin/Java) or iOS (Swift/Objective-C)
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar
- Experience building secure, reliable applications for business or operational use
- Good understanding of mobile networking, data storage, UI rendering and performance optimisation
This role is initially office-based in Chester during onboarding, moving to hybrid working once established in the role.
