Job summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Change Lead to support the implementation of NHS PeoplePortal, a major national workforce transformation programme. As part of Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust's early adopter journey, you will play a pivotal role in redesigning workforce processes, supporting organisational change, coordinating testing activities, and ensuring successful adoption of new ways of working across the Trust.
Working closely with programme colleagues, subject matter experts and stakeholders across HR, Payroll, Finance, IT and operational services, you will help shape future workforce processes, support system testing and implementation, and drive continuous improvement. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-profile transformation programme that will modernise workforce services and improve the experience of colleagues across the organisation.
The successful candidate will have strong change management, stakeholder engagement and analytical skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and influence positive change at all levels.
Main duties of the job
- Lead and support change management activities to ensure successful implementation and adoption of NHS PeoplePortal across the Trust.
- Review current workforce processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and help design futureways of working.
- Conduct change impact assessments and support the implementation of revised processes and procedures.
- Coordinate stakeholder engagement activities, ensuringteams are actively involved in system design, testing and implementation.
- Act as testingcoordinator for System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring testing activities are delivered successfully and to programme timelines.
- Support the validation of system integrations, interfaces, data migration and end-to-end workforce processes.
- Develop and deliver training, workshops, user guidance and supporting documentation to prepare colleagues for new systems and processes.
- Produce programme reports, dashboards and analysis to monitor progress, risks, issues, benefits and organisational readiness.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, supporting engagement, communication and collaboration throughout the programme lifecycle.
- Support programme governance, risk management, reporting, data quality activities and the continuous improvement of workforce services and systems.
- Contribute to benefits realisation, lessons learned reviews and ongoing optimisation activities following implementation.

- Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent experience
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Project management qualification or knowledge of methodologies
Experience and knowledge
- Knowledge and experience of organisational change and continuous improvement
- Experience of working in a change environment with multiple stakeholders across organisational boundaries
- Experience of influencing staff at all levels
- Broad knowledge of NHS ESR system
- Broad knowledge of HR and Workforce processes such as recruitment, payroll, business intelligence, talent management and performance management.
- Experience of developing and delivering training
- Experience of administration and reporting
- Experience in producing reports and maintaining records
- Experience of working with multiple stakeholders
- Experience of testing, data cleansing or activity mapping activities
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
- Experience of supporting projects or programmes
- Senior Experience working within the NHS
- Experience supporting HR or workforce software implementation
- Contract management experience - negotiation and oversight
- Knowledge of ESR Reporting tools and Business Intelligence Dashboards
