The highly regarded Radiology department at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Radiology Fellow with a specialist interest in Gastro-intestinal and Peritoneal Malignancy imaging. ,
The Radiology team provide an essential role in the Hampshire Hospitals PMI service which is the largest European Centre for PMI surgical procedures undertaking approximately 400 peritoneal malignancy operations a year.
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting post for 12 months aimed at a senior Radiology trainee wishing to gain further specialist experience in GI and Peritoneal Malignancy Imaging.
This appointment will support the expanding service, which has a reputation for high-quality patient care, innovation in service delivery and national and international leadership with highly experienced and clinical expert Radiologists.
The successful candidate will have an experienced Consultant supervisor for the duration of your post. and support will be tailored to meet the training needs and interests of the post holder. The post-holder will be expected to contribute to the acute day-time rota.
The candidate will also contribute to the general workload of the department and should be competent in plain film reporting, cross sectional imaging (CT/MR), fluoroscopy and ultrasound.

Person Specification
Professional Qualifications
- oFRCR (or equivalent)
- oFull registration with the GMC
- oPost FRCR experience in GI imaging/oncology
- oHigher qualification (MRCP or MRCS)
Clinical Expereince and Knowledge
- oPost FRCR experience in GI imaging/oncology
- oAll applicants should have a solid background in General Radiology and experience of reporting in plain films, ultrasound, CT and MRI.
- oBasic interventional skills (e.g. biopsies, drainages)
Clinical Skills and Ability
- oAbility to supervise, cover and report on examinations carried out by radiographers
- oExperience in conducting clinico-radiological meetings or MDTs.
- oWillingness to use Voice Recognition systems
Research and Teaching skills
- oWillingness to participate in teaching to promote role expansion and skill mix among the radiographic staff
- oWillingness to teach medical students and junior medical staff
- oInterest in research
- oAbstracts and presentations
- oPeer review publications
- oExperience in teaching
