Job summary

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Server Specialist engineer to join the Server team at Hampshire. This role will be focused on managing and maintaining server operating systems and hosting systems across a wide array of clinical and administrative disciplines.The post is full-time and permanent

Main duties of the job

The Server team supports 1000+ Servers of which 90% are virtualized. The Server Specialist role is a key asset in maintaining operational activities of the IT servers and storage and hosting environments including critical business systems.

Duties will involve the following skillsets:

Customer engagement, negotiation and communication

Project management

Risk Management

Change Mangement

Windows Server Operating System migrations/upgrades

Nutanix HCI

VMWare

Qualifications

Essential
  • Degree level or equivalent knowledge and skills
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable
  • ITIL Practioner Qualification
  • Microsoft Certification
  • PRINCE2 Certification
  • Relevant IT Vendor Certification

Experience

Essential
  • Extensive IT experience gained within an enterprise environment
  • Evidence of depth and breadth of delivering it solutions across multiple disciplines
  • Specialist knowledge and expertise of at least one of the key IT areas
Desirable
  • Knowledge and experience of clinical systems
  • Thorough understanding of IT Security

Skills

Essential
  • Ability to understand, interpret and communicate highly complex IT Functionality issues, whilst working under extreme pressure.
