Working as part of the organisation's Digital and Intelligence function, you will lead the organisation's corporate approach to digital transformation, AI adoption and automation, ensuring that technology is used effectively to improve productivity, collaboration and the delivery of high-quality services across the organisation.

You will have significant experience of leading digital transformation, technology enablement, automation or organisational change programmes within a healthcare, public sector or similarly large-scale environment. You will demonstrate a strong track record of delivering innovative digital solutions that improve ways of working, enhance employee experience and maximise the value of technology investments. Experience of implementing automation technologies, digital productivity tools and AI-enabled solutions will be highly desirable, together with the ability to balance innovation with appropriate governance, risk management and user adoption.

Main duties of the job

As the Digital Enablement Lead, you will be responsible for identifying and delivering opportunities to automate manual and repetitive processes, helping teams work more efficiently and focus resources on higher-value activity.

You will lead the transformation of traditional IT and digital services into a modern, user-centred enablement function. This will include overseeing the deployment and optimisation of AI assistants and digital tools that support research, analysis, reporting, content creation and day-to-day productivity across the organisation.

You will play a key role in shaping the organisation's digital culture, ensuring that staff have the tools, skills and confidence required to embrace new technologies and ways of working.

Job responsibilities

Lead the Digital Enablement function, identifying and implementing opportunities to automate manual and repetitive tasks.

Manage the transformation of the current Corporate IT service to a modern digital service which enables enhanced collaboration and maximise the value of existing digital investments.

Deploy and optimise AI assistants to support staff with research, analysis, reporting, drafting, and coproduction of outputs.

Improve the organisations digital working environment, ensuring staff have the tools, skills, and confidence to work efficiently and collaboratively.

Develop a digitallyenabled culture that supports new ways of working, maximises productivity, and enables the workforce to deliver highquality outcomes.

Assess organisational processes to identify opportunities for automation and AI support.

Evaluate AI and automation solutions, balancing benefit, risk, feasibility, and staff impact.

Interpret digital usage data and productivity insights to inform prioritisation and continuous improvement.

Person Specification

Qualifications and experience

Essential
  • Degree or equivalent experience in digital, informatics, transformation, or related fields.
  • Experience leading digital improvement or enablement activities.
  • Experience implementing automation, AI tools, workflows, or process redesign.
  • Experience of managing digital suppliers.

Skills and abilities
