Digital Primary Care Project Manager

Working as part of the Digital Primary Care team, you will lead a portfolio of transformational projects that support the strategic priorities of NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care Board. You will work closely with primary care providers, system partners and suppliers to implement innovative technology solutions that improve patient access, enhance workforce productivity and support the delivery of high-quality care.

You will have significant experience in managing complex projects and programmes, engaging a diverse range of stakeholders and delivering measurable outcomes within agreed timescales, budgets and governance frameworks. Knowledge of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight health and care system would be advantageous, helping to foster effective relationships and drive successful implementation across organisational boundaries.

You will play a key role in shaping and delivering strategic initiatives across primary care, providing strong project leadership, ensuring robust governance arrangements, coordinating effective stakeholder engagement and communication, and supporting the realisation of tangible benefits for patients, practices and the wider health and care system.

Job responsibilities

The Digital Primary Care Project Manager will work as part of Digital Primary Care Team supporting the organisation to deliver its identified priorities

Contribute to the delivery of the ICBs digital strategy and plans by implementation of projects, programmes and activities.

The Digital Primary Care Project Manager will provide leadership to deliver projects, initiatives and activities, and will adopt the relevant project management methodologies and standards where appropriate.

To ensure that necessary tasks and targets in the plans are achieved and that appropriate documentation and communication take place.

Deliver the successful implementation of agreed tasks, activities and projects that impact the programmes against agreed project plans to time and within constraints, using industry standard project methodologies.

Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.

Developing business cases.

Manage project phases ensuring agreed and approved Clinical Safety Assessment signoffs to enable the project to be implemented.

Keep up to date with digital programmes locally and nationally to support the development of best practice digital projects.

Provide and receive complex information to ensure successful delivery of the projects.

Effectively manage project risks, including the development of contingency plans.

Write and produce reports, project plans, and documents to a consistent and high standard and with the ability to prcis and write succinctly.

Provide leadership with colleagues, both internal and external, in gaining agreement and cooperation in the delivery of projects and information requirements.

Support the development of internal and external communication where required by regular contact with the teams, stakeholders and communications team.

To liaise with partner agencies in providing and receiving complex and sensitive information.

To deputise for other managers within the team and represent the ICB at agreed meetings with partner agencies, presenting complex and sensitive information to large groups.

Person Specification

Qualifications and/ or experience

Essential
  • Educated to masters level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area. A good understanding of the health and social care environment and roles and responsibilities within it.
  • Professional qualification in project management or equivalent experience and a commitment to on-going CPD.
  • Highly specialist knowledge across the range of project management Principles, Themes, Processes and Practices.

Skills and abilities

  • Experience of resource management, business management, communications and financial management.
