Hanover Digital is a small technology services business operating inside the UK's Systems Integrator (SI) supplier ecosystems. Originally established as a high-end technology recruitment partner to Tier-1 SIs, the business has successfully evolved into a delivery-led IT services company, building its operating model by hiring senior project and delivery specialists from organisations such as IBM and Accenture. Now on a strong growth trajectory and rapidly increasing our commercial maturity, Hanover Digital is at a pivotal scale-up stage - seeking to grow beyond ecosystem subcontracting and into delivering our own direct outcomes for UK Central Government and the wider Public Sector.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Director of Business Development to lead this next phase of growth and establish Hanover Digital as a trusted delivery partner on government programmes.

Responsibilities

  • Secure new new contracts while growing and diversifying Hanover's client base
  • Build and own senior relationships within Civil Service technology and commercial teams
  • Leverage your SI network to open doors to new programmes and supply-chain opportunities
  • Shape Hanover's value proposition across recruitment, consultancy and delivery services
  • Lead qualification, capture planning, bid strategy and winning bid submissions
  • Create and evolve a professional, scalable sales process
  • Develop and mentor a small, high-performing team
  • Work directly with the business owner to define growth strategy and market positioning

Qualifications

You will be a proven Public Sector commercial leader with:

  • A background in one or more large Systems Integrators or global technology consultancies
  • Extensive experience selling into UK Central Government
  • An existing network of senior stakeholders across government digital, technology and transformation teams
  • Strong knowledge of public sector procurement, frameworks, bid qualification and bidding
  • A track record of winning and growing complex technology deals

You will also be:

  • Comfortable operating in a small, entrepreneurial, scale-up environment
  • Commercially hands-on, but strategically minded
  • A natural leader who can mobilise people around a clear mission
  • Experienced in building and running structured sales methodologies and pipelines
