Insurance Platform Engineer
Our client is building an insurance technology platform that brings together underwriting, pricing, actuarial modelling, portfolio analysis and workflow management within a single framework.
We are looking for a hands-on engineer to work closely with underwriters and other insurance specialists, understand how they make decisions and build the tools they need to work more effectively. This will include automating manual processes, replacing spreadsheet-based tools and developing applications that make data, models and calculations easier to use within day-to-day underwriting.
The role covers the full software stack, including calculation engines, backend services, APIs, data flows and user-facing web applications. The focus is not on building isolated tools or prototypes, but on creating robust, reusable capabilities that form part of a wider cloud-based platform.
The successful candidate could be a software engineer with an interest in insurance, or an actuary, actuarial student or catastrophe modeller who has developed strong software engineering skills. What matters most is an enthusiasm for building useful products, an ability to understand complex insurance problems and the technical capability to turn those problems into working software.
The role will see you spend some time in the office and there is some flexibility on exactly how much time in the office the person is expected to spend. Fully remote, however, is out of the question.
Please note that the client is looking for (re) insurance experience. No responses provided to candidates without (re) insurance experience.
