Head of Reporting & Financial Operations | High-Growth Consumer Fintech Scale-Up | London (Hybrid)

The Business

Harmonic are partnered with a rapidly scaling fintech in their search for a Head of Reporting & Financial Operations to join the senior leadership team.

Their innovative consumer platform brings together a range of financial services into a single, easy-to-use product, which has led to the business growing significantly over the last few years, scaling from 100 to 450+ heads, and now generating over £100m in revenue. Backed by top-tier investors, the business has been profitable for the last two years and is gearing for a potential IPO or strategic exit in the near future.

The company has maintained a collaborative, mission-driven culture throughout its scale-up journey, with flat hierarchies and high levels of cross-functional exposure, including regular interaction with the co-founders and C-suite.

The Role

As Head of Reporting & Financial Operations, you’ll take ownership of corporate reporting and financial operations, bringing strategic direction to finance transformation, IPO readiness, and ongoing process improvement. This is a senior leadership role, reporting to the CFO, and will play a critical part in shaping the finance function as the business scales toward its next phase of growth.

You'll lead on technical accounting, financial controls, and reporting governance, while also overseeing day-to-day operations across AP, AR, payroll, and tax. A key part of the role will be enabling change and leading transformation projects that support efficiency, scalability, and data integrity.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone excited by high-growth consumer businesses and looking to drive tangible impact in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead financial reporting across the group, including consolidated financial statements, tax filings, and regulatory submissions
  • Maintain compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant standards, including implementation of updates and best practices
  • Drive continuous improvement across financial operations, with oversight of AP, AR, payroll, and tax
  • Own the roadmap for finance transformation, including systems, controls, and automation projects
  • Play a key role in the company’s IPO readiness programme, particularly on reporting and controls
  • Develop and embed robust internal control frameworks, risk mitigation strategies, and governance standards
  • Lead cross-functional projects to drive efficiency and improve financial literacy across the business
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CFO, contributing to strategic planning and helping shape the future of the finance function
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to the wider finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA) with a minimum of 5 years post-qualified experience
  • Strong technical accounting background with experience in financial reporting and operational finance
  • Experience working in fintech, financial services, or regulated sector helpful but not essential
  • Track record of delivering transformation projects and driving process improvements
