Harmonic are excited to be working with a high-growth B2B SaaS scale-up on their next CFO during a new growth phase. Delivering a cloud-based platform that enables brands, retailers, and distributors to centralise, enrich, govern, and distribute complex product information and digital assets across multiple channels, our client have become one of the most reputable organisations in their space.
The Business:
Headquartered in Manchester with an expanding international presence (including in North America), the business serves a growing base of mid-market and enterprise customers across retail, manufacturing, and distribution. Their platform plays a critical role in enabling digital commerce, omnichannel operations, and scalable product data management for customers operating at global scale.
The company operates a subscription-based recurring revenue model with strong gross margins and high customer retention. The business has scaled to approximately 80+ employees (with continued growth planned) and supports 150+ customers globally.
Since inception in the mid 2010s, annual revenues have grown impressively year on year, ARR now in excess of £13m. The business is also backed by institutional venture investors, having raised £8m+ across multiple funding rounds. The company is now entering its next phase of growth, focused on operational scale, international expansion, and long-term value creation.
The Role:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be a key member of the executive leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Board and investors.
Along with line managing a team of 2 reports, the CFO will own the financial strategy, governance, and performance management of the business, ensuring the company scales efficiently while maintaining strong financial discipline. This role is both strategic and hands-on, suited to a finance leader experienced in scaling venture-backed businesses through growth, maturity, and potential exit scenarios.
- Define and execute the company's financial strategy in support of growth, margin improvement, and long-term enterprise value.
- Lead long-range planning, scenario analysis, and financial modelling to support strategic decision-making.
- Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and executive team on expansion strategy.
- Own budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and monthly/quarterly reporting.
- Ensure strong financial controls, governance, and compliance with accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP as appropriate).
- Oversee audits, tax, treasury, and risk management activities.
- Implement clear dashboards and reporting frameworks to provide insight across the organisation.
- Lead fundraising strategy and execution as required.
- Own board reporting, investor communications, and financial narrative.
- Act as a trusted financial partner to existing and prospective investors.
- Partner with Sales and Marketing on revenue forecasting, pipeline analysis, and commission structures.
- Provide financial insight and challenge across Customer Success, Operations, and Go-to-Market teams.
- Build, lead, and mentor a scalable, high-performing finance team.
- Implement best-in-class finance systems (billing, revenue recognition, ERP, FP&A tools).
- Ensure finance processes are robust enough to support international growth and increased scale.
What we need to see (essential):
- Track record of scaling a VC or PE-backed business through periods of rapid growth.
- Strong financial modelling, forecasting, and analytical capabilities.
- Commercially astute, with the ability to influence strategy beyond finance.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with confidence communicating with executives, boards, and investors.
What we need to see (bonus):
- Proven experience within B2B SaaS or enterprise software, ideally with subscription revenue models.
Salary: £120k - £150k + bonus + potential LTIP
Location: Central Manchester (flexible hybrid working policy)
