This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a high impact automation programme within a small, high trust investment environment. You will lead the delivery of a business critical reporting and calculation platform, replacing long standing manual processes with a scalable, automated solution. The role is offered as a 12 month fixed term contract with a strong likelihood of extension or conversion to permanent, based on project success.

They are an established investment business operating within the alternative investment space, managing capital for private investors and institutional clients. The organisation is intentionally small and flat, with low bureaucracy and direct access to senior leadership including the founder. The Role
You will sit within the Data Science function, reporting directly to the Head of Data Science and working closely with senior stakeholders across the business.
Responsibilities include:
- Owning the end to end delivery of an automated LAV and NAV calculation platform
- Automating the ingestion of structured and unstructured data from multiple sources including reports, internal systems, APIs, Excel files, and PDFs
- Designing and implementing robust data pipelines and workflows
- Building and maintaining SQL based data models to support complex financial calculations
- Reducing manual intervention and operational risk across core reporting processes
- Collaborating with data science, engineering, IT, and business stakeholders to deliver a production ready system
- Focusing on implementation and reliability rather than academic or experimental modelling
Your Skills and Experience
- Strong commercial experience delivering production systems end to end
- Advanced problem solving skills with a strong grounding in mathematics and logic
- Proficient in Python and SQL within a production environment
- Experience integrating APIs and working with varied data sources
- Exposure to CI CD and modern engineering best practices
- Comfortable owning ambiguous, high impact projects with minimal handholding
- Experience automating legacy or manual processes
