Data Analyst - Marketing and Pricing

Marketing Analyst Location: London Salary: Up to £60,000 + discretionary bonus Benefits: Pension up to 12% (8% employee contribution)

We are looking for a Marketing Analyst to join a leading global online marketplace. This role focuses on analysing market trends, competitor activity, and pricing data to provide actionable insights that inform strategy and commercial decisions.

What You'll Do:

  • Analyse market, pricing, and competitor data to identify trends and performance opportunities.

  • Query large datasets using SQL (BigQuery) and integrate data from multiple sources, including third-party and open data.

  • Provide story-driven insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.

  • Support Proof of Concepts (POCs) and pilot analytical models, helping scale successful approaches.

  • Evaluate competitor promotions and market changes to assess impact on market share.

  • Contribute to regular market reporting to inform leadership on pricing dynamics and market movement.

  • Collaborate with managers and wider teams to embed best practices and translate insights into action.

Example Projects:

  • Competitor Impact Analysis: Measure effects of promotions by other platforms on market share and customer switching.

  • Market Inflation Tracker: Analyse the impact of inflation and supply costs on pricing and demand.

  • POC Evaluation: Test pilot analytics projects and turn learnings into recommendations.

  • Pricing Sensitivity Study: Identify how competitor price changes affect order frequency and retention.

  • Monthly Market Report: Summarise competitor movements, new entrants, and macroeconomic trends.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years' experience in data analytics or commercial insights, ideally in tech, e-commerce, food delivery, or retail.

  • Strong SQL skills (BigQuery preferred).

  • Skilled in storytelling with data, connecting numbers to commercial context.

  • Curious, commercially minded, and interested in market trends and consumer behaviour.

  • Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously.

  • London-based preferred (not required) to support market awareness and competitor understanding.
