This is a senior contract opportunity to lead a high-impact data transformation programme within the insurance sector. The role offers the chance to operate at a genuinely strategic level, shaping data direction, influencing senior stakeholders, and steering a complex speciality lines transformation across modern Azure data platforms.
The Company They are a well-established insurance organisation undergoing a significant data-led transformation across their speciality lines portfolio. Data is a core strategic priority, with strong executive sponsorship and a clear mandate to modernise pricing and analytics capabilities. The environment is collaborative, business-facing, and focused on long-term value creation rather than short-term delivery.
The Role and Deliverables
  • Lead the end-to-end data programme for a speciality lines pricing data warehouse transformation.
  • Define and articulate the data vision, roadmap, operating model, and delivery approach aligned to strategic business objectives.
  • Own programme-level governance, including reporting, risk management, and executive decision-making forums.
  • Produce and present high-impact materials for senior stakeholders, translating complex data concepts into clear business narratives.
  • Provide technical leadership across Azure-based data platforms, ensuring architectural alignment and delivery quality.
  • Act as the bridge between business, technology, and engineering teams to ensure cohesive, outcome-driven execution.
Your Skills & Experience
  • Strong experience leading data transformation or data programme initiatives in a strategic or consulting-led capacity.
  • Proven ability to engage, influence, and advise senior executive stakeholders.
  • Deep knowledge of Azure data platforms including Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and SQL-based data warehousing.
  • Solid understanding of modern data architectures, design patterns, and DevOps and CI/CD practices.
  • Experience operating within enterprise-scale, Agile delivery environments.
  • Strong insurance domain knowledge, particularly within speciality lines, pricing, policy, or claims data.
