Frontend Developer React

Front-End Developer

Hybrid London (2 days a week)

Up to £75,000 + Benefits

Are you passionate about building interactive, user-friendly web applications that make a real impact? We're partnering with a cutting-edge tech company combining distributed computing, simulation, and machine learning to revolutionise urban transport systems - and they're looking for a Front-End Developer to help take their platform to the next level.

Why this role?

  • Be part of a mission-driven team improving the way cities move and operate.

  • Work on FlowOS, a flagship product already being adopted by some of Europe's biggest public transport operators.

  • Hybrid flexibility: London office 2 days per week with balance to work remotely.

  • Join a diverse, ambitious team of engineers, data scientists, and urban modelling experts.

What you'll be doing:

  • Designing, implementing, and testing front-end applications for FlowOS.

  • Contributing across the full development lifecycle: from feature conception to release and customer testing.

  • Choosing the right tools and influencing the long-term strategy for the front-end tech stack.

  • Working in a cross-functional team, sharing responsibility for development, integration, and deployment.

  • Building impactful solutions using technologies such as React, D3.js, MapBox, and client-side databases.

  • Growing into a role with ownership and technical leadership as the web development team expands.

What we're looking for:

  • 3+ years of commercial experience building interactive web applications with JavaScript/TypeScript and React.

  • Experience with Node.js, Webpack, and modern development workflows.

  • Strong understanding of client-side performance, cross-browser compatibility, and RESTful APIs.

  • Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Enzyme) and UI tools (e.g., Figma).

  • A passion for building maintainable, scalable, and high-quality software.

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Bonus skills:

  • Data visualisation (e.g., D3.js) or scientific visualisation experience.

  • Mapping tools (e.g., MapBox) or real-time applications (e.g., WebSockets).

Package & Benefits:

  • Salary up to £75,000.

  • Hybrid working - London office twice per week.

  • A supportive, innovative, and collaborative culture.

  • Career development support through training and mentoring.

  • The opportunity to make a tangible impact on urban mobility and sustainability.
