HEAD OF AI ENGINEERING £200,000 LONDON

This is a rare opportunity to join a rapidly scaling, PE-backed data platform business and take ownership of building a next-generation AI-native data layer. Working directly with the Group CTO, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping both the technical direction and the future of their global data products.

THE COMPANY

This organisation is a global leader in B2B data and business intelligence, operating across 200+ countries and supporting industries such as fintech, compliance, and fraud prevention. Backed by private equity, the business is growing quickly through acquisitions and is building a unified data platform across multiple entities.

This role sits at the heart of that transformation, offering the chance to influence platform architecture, drive AI adoption, and help scale a high-growth international business.

THE ROLE

  • Architect and deliver a centralised, AI-native data platform across multiple global datasets
  • Build and scale high-performance data pipelines, APIs, and data services
  • Deploy AI and automation to improve data quality, enrichment, and verification
  • Work closely with the CTO on technical strategy, roadmap, and execution
  • Lead technical due diligence on acquisitions and own post-acquisition integration plans
  • Engage with senior leadership and investors, presenting architecture and strategy
  • Start as a hands-on individual contributor with scope to build and lead a team

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ years building production-grade systems at scale
  • Background as a Staff/Principal Engineer, senior IC, or technical leader in a high-growth environment
  • Strong hands-on coding skills in Python, SQL, and TypeScript
  • Experience building large-scale data platforms, APIs, and distributed systems
  • Proven ability to operate across architecture, delivery, and executive-level communication
  • Desirable: experience with AI/LLM systems, data enrichment, B2B data products, or hybrid infrastructure environments

SALARY AND BENEFITS

  • £150,000 - £200,000 base salary
  • Discretionary bonus
  • Pension scheme
  • Hybrid working model
  • Potential for future equity participation
