Are you a visionary leader in data and AI, ready to shape the future of a dynamic, cloud-native bank? Our client, a leading UK listed bank, is seeking a Head of Data & AI to spearhead their data transformation and drive innovation across the organisation.
THE COMPANY: Our client is a rapidly growing, fully licensed UK bank, specializing in banking services for global fintechs, SME lending, and personal savings. They are at the forefront of digital transformation, blending technological innovation with a deep focus on customer satisfaction. Operating in a dual-regulated environment, they are expanding and heavily investing in data, analytics, and AI to enhance their offerings.
THE ROLE: As Head of Data & AI, you will lead the development and execution of the bank's enterprise data strategy across data engineering, analytics, governance, and applied AI/ML. You'll own the roadmap for how data is collected, managed, and activated, leading and scaling a growing, multi-disciplinary team.
You will partner with leaders across product, technology, risk, and operations to embed data into decision-making and product design. This high-impact role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and a passion for building high-performing data teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy & Leadership: Define and lead the enterprise data strategy, championing a data-driven culture and transforming the data warehouse into an AI-driven function.
- Data Platform & Engineering: Oversee the architecture, scalability, and reliability of data infrastructure, ensuring quality and accessibility.
- AI & Advanced Analytics: Support AI model development, deployment, and monitoring, ensuring responsible AI practices.
- Governance & Compliance: Implement data governance policies and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: The ideal Head of Data & AI will have:
- Significant experience in data leadership, ideally within fintech or cloud-native organisations (AWS preferred).
- Strong technical background in data engineering, analytics, or data science.
- Experience with modern data stacks (e.g., SQL, dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, Looker/Power BI) and AI/ML tooling (e.g., Python, MLflow, MLOps).
- A track record of building and managing high-performing data teams.
- Strategic thinking and ability to influence senior stakeholders, comfortable in dual-regulated environments.
