Are you a data leader who loves building high-performing teams and scalable platforms? I'm hiring for a Head of Data Engineering at a rapidly growing InsurTech company that's transforming how motor insurance works-making it simpler, fairer, and more personalised.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll set the strategy, guide architecture, and empower a talented data engineering team to deliver world-class data systems in a fast-paced, product-led environment.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-impact team of data engineers

  • Define and deliver the data engineering roadmap aligned with business goals

  • Own the architecture, reliability, and scalability of the data platform end-to-end

  • Drive best practices in ETL/ELT pipelines, data modelling, and real-time processing

  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure data solutions are fit for purpose and future-proof

  • Introduce and champion modern engineering practices (testing, CI/CD, IaC)

  • Identify opportunities for tooling upgrades, re-architecture, or innovation

What You'll Bring
  • 2+ years leading data engineering teams as a Manager or Technical Lead

  • 5+ years designing and operating scalable data platforms in fast-paced settings

  • Deep expertise with data pipelines, warehouses, and architectures

  • Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and cloud-native tools (AWS preferred)

  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and translate technical ideas into business impact

  • Passion for developing talent and fostering a culture of learning and ownership

Nice to Have
  • Experience with Data Mesh or Data Lake architectures

  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and real-time streaming (Kafka, Kinesis)

  • Exposure to ML engineering pipelines or MLOps
