Head of Data & Infrastructure

Head of Data and Infrastructure Remote Working
£100,000 to £140,000 plus benefits and EMI scheme
This is a rare opportunity to join a fast-growing data consultancy at a formative stage. If you want to shape technical strategy from day one, work directly with clients, and influence how modern data services should operate, this role offers the autonomy and impact you are looking for.
The Company They are a young and ambitious data consultancy specialising in data engineering, data infrastructure, and applied machine learning. Their mission is to rethink how professional services operate by combining deep technical expertise with a modern, automation-led delivery model. With strong funding, a clear vision, and early traction with clients, they are building a team that will set new standards for how data consulting is delivered.
The Role As Head of Data and Infrastructure, you will play a pivotal, hands-on leadership role across strategy, architecture and delivery. You will: * Work directly with clients to understand complex, ambiguous challenges and translate them into clear technical solutions. * Lead architecture design across AWS-based data platforms, ETL pipelines, and automated workflows. * Build foundations for scalable data environments including ingestion, normalisation, orchestration and infrastructure. * Run workshops alongside the founder and shape end-to-end solution delivery. * Contribute to early builds before bringing in contractors as patterns become repeatable. * Guide clients through their data maturity journey, from unstructured datasets to automation and predictive capability.
Your Skills and Experience You will be a strong match if you have: * Deep experience across data engineering, data infrastructure and end-to-end platform builds. * Strong capability in ETL design, data modelling, data normalisation and architecture. * Confidence working directly with clients in a consultative, solution-shaping capacity. * Experience leading or growing technical teams. * Exposure to AWS, automation tools and orchestrators such as Airflow or Dagster. * Understanding of machine learning or predictive analytics, even at a conceptual level. * Experience across multiple industries; familiarity with the music industry is a significant bonus.
What They Offer * Salary between £100000 and £140000. * EMI scheme participation. * Remote working and flexible working practices. * The chance to make a defining impact at an early stage, with clear routes for leadership growth.
