HEAD OF PRICING & SUBSCRIPTIONS - 12-MONTH FTC UP TO £89,000 + BONUS LONDON - HYBRID (3 DAYS ONSITE)

THE TEAM
You'll join a specialist pricing and customer engagement function focused on subscription strategy for one of the UK's most prestigious news titles. The team includes a Pricing Manager, and an Analyst, working together to understand customer behaviour, optimise value propositions, and drive sustainable growth. The environment is highly collaborative, working closely with colleagues in sales, marketing, and finance to shape data-driven decisions that influence how millions engage with the brand.
THE ROLE
This is a commercially focused analytical role, sitting within the wider retention and customer engagement team. You'll be responsible for analysing and optimising subscription pricing and propositions, ensuring they remain competitive in a dynamic market while maximising acquisition, engagement, and retention.
Working closely with multiple stakeholders across the business, you'll translate complex data into clear, actionable insights and stories that inform strategic decisions. The role covers all subscription tiers - including digital, student, and specialist add-on packages - with a focus on delivering value to customers while driving growth for the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the development of pricing strategies and propositions for digital and print subscriptions.
- Analysing customer data to understand engagement, retention, and lifetime value.
- Collaborating with commercial, finance, and marketing teams to evaluate business impact and inform decision-making.
- Providing insight into pricing performance and competitor activity to guide long-term strategy.
- Evaluating new opportunities to grow subscriber value and optimise existing offers.
- Contributing to planning and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment between pricing strategy and business goals.
- Presenting insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders and making data-driven recommendations.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Strong analytical background with experience in pricing, insight, or commercial analysis.
- Experience working within a subscription-based or membership business is highly preferred.
- Proven ability to interpret and communicate complex data to senior stakeholders.
- Management or mentoring experience desirable - or strong leadership potential.
- Excellent commercial acumen; able to balance strategic and tactical priorities.
- Understanding of customer lifetime value, retention, and engagement metrics.
- SQL skills advantageous but not essential.
- Econometrics or experience with forecasting models beneficial but not required.
