Learning Analyst

Location: Hybrid - 2x per week in Manchester

Salary: Up to £51,000

The Role

This is a specialist analytics role focused on evaluating and improving learning performance. You'll sit within the Customer Insight function but work closely with the Learning & Curriculum team. Your day-to-day remit will involve analysing how learners interact with digital products and content, recommending behavioural improvements, and helping shape strategic decisions that drive learner engagement and success.This is a role with real social impact - every recommendation you make contributes to improving learning journeys for thousands of students across the UK and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyse learner performance and satisfaction data to identify trends, pain points, and areas of opportunity.- Evaluate the impact of instructional design, content, and new learning features through robust A/B testing and statistical significance testing.- Develop and maintain dashboards using Power BI, supported by SQL and Python-based ETL pipelines.- Help shape a centralised Learning Analytics Framework that tracks key KPIs on learner success, engagement, and satisfaction.- Translate complex analysis into accessible insight for stakeholders across product, learning, curriculum, and academic teams.- Collaborate with IT to ensure data quality and integrity across Microsoft Fabric environments.- Document and manage data models, analysis logic, and reports to support repeatable, scalable insight generation.- Contribute to predictive modelling projects focused on personalising learning journeys and improving learner retention.

Skills & Experience

Essential:- Strong SQL skills for data extraction and transformation.- Proficiency with Power BI for reporting, dashboarding, and data storytelling.- Comfortable using Python (or R) for analysis and statistical testing.- Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric or similar cloud-based data platforms.- Experience running A/B tests, calculating effect sizes, and analysing statistical significance.- Ability to communicate insight clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.- A proactive mindset and an understanding of how data supports better learning experiences.Desirable:- Experience in the education or ed-tech sector.- Understanding of learning science or instructional design principles.- Knowledge of GDPR and learner data ethics.- Degree in data science, statistics, or a related field.
